Serious Postpartum Risks For Some Endometriosis Patients
Endometriosis affects 5 to 10% of women of childbearing age, with pain and infertility as known side effects. Now researchers at Fujian Medical University, in China, have analyzed pregnancies of women with endometriosis to learn about the effects of endometriosis on pregnancy and to evaluate other risks. They found that endometriosis is linked to an increased incidence of serious conditions including placenta previa, preeclampsia, and postpartum hemorrhaging in some patients. Could disease severity/staging play a role in this risk?
