Integrating Cannabis Products into Chronic Pain Treatment
As Cannabis products and cannabis-based medicines have become more widely accepted and utilized in pain management, HCPs have looked for guidance on how to advise pain management patients who use these products. In a new article in the journal “Anesthesia & Analgesia,” the authors sought to clarify for HCPs the sometimes-conflicting information in the literature about the use of cannabis. They wrote, “In this review, we narratively synthesize the evidence to enable a clear view of current landscape and provide pragmatic advice for clinicians to use when working with patients.” The authors’ work resulted in three guiding points directed at HCPs, which HCPs can use to maximize the benefits of cannabis products for pain management patients.
