The COVID pandemic has affected us all, in a myriad of ways. Isolation and stress has contributed to opioid use disorder and overdoses. One positive that has emerged from the all-too-many negatives is telemedicine. More people are seeking and getting the help they need. Theresa Baxter, MSN, FNP, is a nurse practitioner at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, who specializes in pain and addiction. In this interview, she shares her knowledge and experience of patients with opioid use disorder and how they’ve been affected by the isolation of a pandemic.
